Sharjah Chamber and Expo sign memorandum of understanding with International Association of Exhibitions

Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Sharjah Expo Center today signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Association of Exhibitions and Events aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two sides to implement a number of CEM-accredited training programs in exhibitions management.
The MoU provides for the implementation of at least nine specialized training programs for the IAEE CEM Learning Program, to be held over a year, and includes seven Arab countries: the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan.
“The signing of the MoU with the International Association of Exhibitions and Events is part of the Chamber’s efforts to support the local and regional exhibitions and events sector with a view to enhancing Arab economic cooperation and integration and sharing knowledge in line with the directives of the wise leadership,” said Abdulla Sultan Al Owais,
Al Owais affirmed that the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wise guidance to establish the Sharjah Expo Center as the first facility of its kind in the country 41 years ago has resulted in a great success reflected in Sharjah’s position as a leading exhibition industry in the world and its transformation into One of the leading cities leading the industry in the Middle East. Sharjah has become the ideal destination for companies, investors and businessmen from around the world in the Emirate’s strategy to promote diversification, economic openness and sustainable development. A comprehensive renaissance at all levels.
He pointed out that the main objective of the signing of the memorandum of understanding is to prepare qualified Arab human cadres capable of supplying the industry of exhibitions and events with the expertise, knowledge and skills necessary to develop this industry, especially with the approach of many international entitlements to be witnessed by the state and the region.
