Sharjah Tourism and Tourism Development Authority will participate in the 11th edition of Riyadh Travel 2019, which will be held from 28 to 30 March to promote the tourism, cultural and entertainment elements of the emirate of Sharjah as one of the most important tourist destinations locally and internationally.
The event will focus on eco-tourism and outdoor activities, highlighting the new branded and international hotel projects in line with the TRA’s commitment to enhance the presence of Sharjah’s tourism product in Arab markets in the region, particularly Saudi Arabia, one of the largest Gulf markets exporting tourists to the emirate.
“Our participation in the Riyadh Travel Fair is in line with our strategic plans to promote the emirate of Sharjah as a leading tourist destination in the world’s major tourist markets and to confirm its presence on the global tourism map,” said Khalid Jassim Al Madfaa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
He added that the participation of the Authority in this exhibition is of great importance as it is an ideal platform for us to review the competitive advantages that make Sharjah a cultural, tourist and leisure center and a symbol of cultural excellence in the region. And geographical location, which requires us to provide an exceptional tourist product for the Gulf tourist, which accounted for 45 percent last year of the total Arab tourists in the emirate.
The Authority is keen to highlight the latest tourism and entertainment projects and strategic initiatives aimed at developing tourism products in an innovative way to enhance the travel experience of the Arab visitor in particular and raise the proportion of Gulf and Arab tourism in the region in support of “Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021” Million tourists by 2021.
