A new report that was released on behalf of the Middle East Electricity Exhibition, to be held from March 6 to 8, shows a remarkable growth in the smart grid market in the GCC  that will reach US $ 1.68 billion by 2026.

This growth will be driven by the increasing deployment of smart grid infrastructure by GCC governments, according to market research firm Ventures Insight.

The vision of the UAE to deploy network solutions and smart meters will contribute to enhancing the contribution of renewable energy sources in line with the contents of the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050.

Anita Mathews, Director of Informa Industrial Exhibitions Group, organizers of the Middle East Electricity Show, said that Dubai has a pioneering position in the field of smart networks, especially after it has invested in the first “Shams Dubai” initiative in the UAE aimed at connecting solar systems buildings within the framework of the renewable energy program related to the distribution network in Dubai. ”

More than 1,500 exhibitors from 66 countries will be hosted by the Middle East Electricity Show in 2018 and will be held in 24 specialized international pavilions.

Smart networks will be the subject of a major discussion during the World Smart Energy Summit, which will be launched for the first time on the sidelines of the exhibition.
