“Specifications” launches the first global interactive map of Halal accreditation

The Emirates Standardization and Metrology Authority (ESMA) has launched “Specifications”, the Halal Accreditation Service of the National Accreditation Department, as well as the launch of the first interactive map of accreditation bodies and the assessment of Halal compliance globally.
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), inaugurated the third session of the International Halal Industry Forum today in Dubai, attended by more than 300 officials and international experts in the Halal industry.
Al-Mansouri said that the UAE is currently leading global efforts to assess the size of the Islamic economy sector through a specialized study by the concerned authorities in the country, which will end in the end of this year on the relevant sectors including food commodities, financial finance and Islamic insurance as well as the quality of life In the state.
For his part, Abdullah Al Meini, Director General of ESMA, said that the Halal industry represents one of the most important axes in this vital sector. The global market for halal products trade is growing by more than $ 2.3 trillion according to the reports of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
