Sven signs MoU with ADNOC Logistics and Services to contain oil spills

, Abu Dhabi Marine Services Company (Sphinx) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the supply and services to enhance the joint cooperation in the containment of oil spills and the maintenance and cleaning of the beaches surrounding Abu Dhabi Ports. Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will cooperate in the response to oil spill incidents of the second level by containing, cleaning and maintaining the affected areas. The oil spill / second level incidents cover wider areas of water and include larger amounts of oil spills compared to the first level of these incidents that Sven has the full potential to deal with. “The Sphinx has developed an integrated system to ensure the highest standards in HSE,” said Hamad Al Maghrabi, Director General of Maritime Services Operations at Abu Dhabi Ports. He added that the MOU strengthens Abu Dhabi Ports’ commitment to cooperate with many partners to protect Abu Dhabi ports and the maritime community service. The memo covers the maritime areas surrounding ports owned by Abu Dhabi Ports or operated by the company and also allows ADNOC Logistics and Services to take advantage of Abu Dhabi’s storage facilities to ensure a faster response to the second type of oil spill.
