China has no choice but to respond to Washington imposing customs duties on imports from China, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said. The US action severely harms global supplies, value chains and disrupts the global market, but indicated that China will move ahead with its domestic reforms and opening up, the ministry said in a statement. China has imposed import duties of 25 percent on some Chinese goods worth 34 billion dollars, and the United States has violated WTO rules and started the biggest war in economic history, the Commerce Ministry said.
