Total assets of Central Emirates exceed AED 432.6 billion during March 2019

The total assets of the Central Bank of the UAE jumped to a record level, the first of its kind in nearly four decades, after it reached 432.6 billion dirhams at the end of March 2019, an increase of 3.5% compared to the end of 2018 of 417.7 billion dirhams.
The increase in total assets was driven by an increase in deposits with the Central Bank, which reached AED 133.5 billion at the end of last March, a growth of 25% compared to 106.8 billion dirhams in December 2018.
According to the Central Bank’s latest statistics, the improvement also included other assets, which rose to AED 4 billion in March compared to AED 2.61 billion at the end of 2018, while the investment item stood at the same level of AED 104.22 billion.
Cash and bank balances reached AED 187.81 billion in March compared to AED 200.9 billion in December 2018. The balance of loans and advances stood at 3.11 billion dirhams
