UAE is among the top countries in the eGovernment Development Index

The United Nations ranks the UAE as one of the top countries in the eGovernment Development Index in 2018, according to a recent study published by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on the sidelines of the 2019 Global Summit of Governments.
The new achievement, in which the UAE was awarded a “very high” level in the development of electronic services, boosted the list of achievements achieved during the past years, including the sixth place last year in the global index of electronic services / smart, “five years after the launch of the owner HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the Smart Government Project.
The study, prepared by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), is the first of its kind to analyze data on the main trends of 193 UN member states on the provision of e-services and mobile services, as well as the distribution of online services according to the level of income and sectors.
Countries were classified according to the study to four levels / very high, high, medium and low / based on the main engines of the e-government development index such as the level of progress in the provision of online transaction services and trends in open government data and mobile services, Innovative.
The indicator also highlighted factors related to sustainable development goals such as health, education, social protection, gender equality and employment.
The UAE has succeeded in becoming a global model in the provision of electronic services through its keenness to keep abreast of the best international practices in the ICT sector and to implement the latest global applications in the public work.
