UAE announces long-term visas for the top 100 emerging Arab companies

The Government of the UAE has announced the granting of five-year visas to the top 100 emerging Arab companies selected at the World Economic Forum for the Middle East and North Africa held in the Kingdom of Jordan on 6 and 7 April. The Forum witnessed for the first time this year an initiative to collect 100 emerging companies from The Arab world is working to shape the future within the framework of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These companies were selected in cooperation with a number of leaders in the business sector in the region.
The announcement of the UAE’s granting of long-term visas was announced during the participation of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touk, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers and HE Khalfan Jumaa Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, in a pivotal session on stimulating emerging Arab projects through developing legislation and supporting entrepreneurship.
The UAE is home to 20% of the region’s emerging projects, according to the latest World Economic Forum reports. The UAE has 19 promising emerging projects out of 100 projects in the Arab region expected to form the future of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the region.
“The UAE is leading the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in emerging technology projects thanks to the creation of an attractive regulatory infrastructure for innovation which is essential for emerging companies,” said Abdulla Bin Touq.
He added: “Cooperation between the UAE and the World Economic Forum and the granting of long-term visas to the top 100 emerging Arab companies aims to facilitate business practices, create an attractive and encouraging environment for the growth and success of companies and underline the UAE’s position as a global destination to attract talent.”
Khalfan Jumaa Belhoul said: “This initiative reflects the determination of the UAE government to build global partnerships at the governmental and private levels that support the adoption of future technology and the exchange of international experiences and innovations. Today we have pioneering experiences in incubating future projects and providing an economic and legislative environment, Fourth in the service of man and building future cities. ”
