The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) program will be held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on 29-30 April.
The program, which comes under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Council of Projects and Small and Medium Enterprises, aims to provide the necessary support, guidance and advice to stimulate the economic growth of the small and medium enterprises sector. the National .
The contribution of the sector to GDP in 2018 is estimated at 53%, and the exhibition will boost national efforts to raise this contribution to 60% by 2021, in line with the objectives of the national agenda.
HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said that the SME sector is a key pillar in the country’s economic vision. It is a pillar of the national economy, a catalyst for economic diversification and an important source of employment generation in the country. Based on innovation and able to take advantage of the scientific progress and developments of modern technology and employment to make the foundations of the economy of the future.
He pointed out that the UAE has been characterized regionally and globally rapidly building and developing the sector of small and medium enterprises. He pointed out that the country is now ranked first in the Arab world and seventh globally on the global index of entrepreneurship GESI.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Economy, in cooperation with its various partners in the public and private sectors, is committed to continuing its efforts to support and develop this pivotal sector. The SME exhibition in Abu Dhabi represents an important station and initiative in this process. Is vital for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the UAE to communicate and exchange ideas, learn best practices and build partnerships that contribute to the transition of competitiveness and growth of the sector to higher levels.
“The SME sector in the UAE is very important for the national economy and is a key driver of its growth and an important component of the UAE’s national agenda for 2021,” said Adeeb Al-Afifi, Director of the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises and Small and Medium Enterprises.
He pointed out that the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises seeks to develop a plan to provide expertise and technical support as well as training to stimulate the growth of this vital sector in addition to empowering Emirati entrepreneurs from small and medium enterprises.
The SME exhibition will bring together experts and stakeholders who will hold keynote lectures, feasibility studies and dialogue seminars. There will be an interactive exhibition exclusively designed to showcase innovative solutions that help enhance the productivity, competitiveness and profitability of the SME sector.
The exhibition will provide industry experts with access to over 150 exhibitors from various sectors including incubators, government services, technology, education, training, consulting, furniture, real estate, retail, business and finance, insurance, banking, legal services, accounts, financial advisory, free zones and economic zones. Marketing, communication, tourism, food and beverage, health, fitness and logistics services.
