Minister of Climate Change and Environment Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zwaidi said that the sixth edition of the Global Forum for Agricultural Innovation focuses on future goals, especially how to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence in the process of increasing production and reducing waste in natural resources.

“Through my tour at the exhibition, I noticed that local farmers are accepting modern technology. There are positive responses and a great development for change. There is a change in behavior and farmers’ handling of these techniques, which will ultimately help to apply the resources of the state, especially the water supplier.
He explained that artificial intelligence is a key part in the next phase through the application of modern technologies that will help to choose the best crops and reduce the consumption of water resources in general and to attract the best technologies for crops in the country.
He added that the most important feature of the Forum this year is the increase in the number of participating countries and the number of exhibitors in addition to hosting for the first time the exhibition of beekeeping and honey production and the Second International Conference of the Arab Beekeeping Society.
He said that farmers are a major part of the country’s society and economy, and of the categories that have a special livelihood by the wise leadership and government officials. Their role is part of the local production system. The Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment continues to support and facilitate all activities in this sector. Technologies to increase productivity and reduce costs.
“Domestic production of local agricultural produce is about 18 to 24 percent of domestic consumption, which indicates interest in quality and a portion of domestic production is exported outside the country,” he said.
The Minister of Climate Change and the environment called on the public, especially the farmers, to visit the forum and the exhibition accompanying the study of the most important techniques presented and how to transfer them to the field work in the country, pointing to the great awareness among farmers and companies of the importance of investment in this field.
