UAE and China sign the approved operator’s business plan

The United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China have signed a plan of action for mutual recognition of the approved economic operator program, with the aim of enhancing trade exchange and customs cooperation between the two countries through the effective and rapid implementation of the requirements of the approved economic operator program.
The plan of action between the two sides includes five stages of detailed procedures in preparation for signing the document of mutual recognition agreement between the two countries.
According to a press release obtained by “MediaN”, the work plan was signed during the meeting of the first working group on the recognition and mutual cooperation on the program of the economic operator adopted during the visit by a recent customs delegation to China headed by Saud Salem Al-Aqroubi Director of International Relations Federal Customs Authority.
Ali Saeed Al Niyadi, the customs commissioner, said that the work plan of the approved economic operator agreement represents an important step in the promotion of bilateral customs relations between the UAE and China, stressing the keenness of the customs administrations of the two countries to promote inter-trade and exchange best customs practices and knowledge, Participation of the private sector in the customs process.
He explained that the Authority has developed the economic operator program adopted in the UAE, in cooperation with the local customs departments, so that the program offers advantages and facilities that save time and cost to traders and external partners who have a strong and proven history in the field of supply chain and compliance with commercial regulations, The approved economic operator aims to enhance the security role of customs and facilitate trade by enabling a secure and accessible supply chain by providing a facility for operators approved by the program.
The Commissioner said that the People’s Republic of China is a strategic trading partner of the United Arab Emirates and the volume of non-oil foreign trade between the two countries is growing, noting that there are huge opportunities for economic and trade gains that push the two countries to enhance customs cooperation.
“China has been ranked first in the list of trade partners of the UAE in recent years. The total non-oil trade (direct trade, free trade and customs warehouses) for the UAE with China reached AED 974 billion (US $ 267 billion) The period from the beginning of 2013 until the end of the first half of 2018. “
