The Democrats are close to taking control of the US Senate

Democrats came close on Friday to retaining control of the US Senate with their candidate winning in Arizona, as Donald Trump prepares to announce his candidacy for the White House in 2024.
Three television networks announced the re-election of Democratic Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona.
With the victory of former astronaut Kelly over his Republican opponent, Blake Masters, the number of Democratic senators increases to 49 so far, a difference of one seat to ensure a majority, while the vote counting continues in Nevada, and a second round will be held in Georgia on December 6.
Kelly’s rival, Blake Masters, in Arizona, did not immediately admit defeat, while Trump wrote on his social network Friday that some electoral machines did not work in Arizona, which led to “electoral fraud and fraud,” and he called for a “rerun of the election.”
The White House said President Joe Biden called Kelly to congratulate him.
Trump gets ready
On the other hand, Trump is expected to announce, on Tuesday, his candidacy for the presidential elections in 2024, as his long-time adviser Jason Miller said Friday.
The former president, who will be 78 when the 2024 election takes place, hinted at running in that election while campaigning for Republican candidates ahead of this week’s midterm vote. He said he would make a “very important announcement” on Tuesday.
“President Trump will announce his candidacy for president on Tuesday,” Miller told former Trump aide Steve Bannon in his popular “Wordroom” podcast, marking his third nomination, including his defeat to Biden in 2020.
After his defeat, he promoted information, without providing evidence, of fraud and encouraged unprecedented riots in the US Capitol in Washington.
