French oil and gas giant Total said yesterday it was interested in the Saudi gas station market and indicated it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Aramco to consider options for operating the plants.
The memo was signed on April 10 during the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Paris, which saw the signing of several initial agreements with French companies, including Total, about $ 12 billion, a company spokesman said.
Total and Aramco are considering joint acquisition of gas station operators in the kingdom, two sources told Reuters.
One source said the two companies were discussing an agreement worth between two billion and three billion riyals.
