Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. and its partner, French automaker Renault, are in talks to reduce Renault’s stake in the Japanese company from the current 43 percent to 15 percent, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that Nissan controls a 15% stake in Renault.
Although their decades-old partnership led to the formation of one of the world’s largest car companies, Nissan is seeking to reorganize what it sees as an uneven and unbalanced structure.
