Zelensky calls on Europe to provide more air defense systems to Ukraine and impose sanctions on Iran

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on European Union leaders to provide more air defense systems to his country, and said that more than 200 Iranian drones, used by Russia in its war against Ukraine, were shot down during the month of October alone.

Addressing EU leaders at the European Summit in Brussels, Zelensky said that Russian cruise missiles and Iranian combat drones had caused havoc, “destroying more than a third of our energy infrastructure.”

Zelensky explained that his country could not export energy to Europe due to the repercussions of the destruction, and called on France, Italy, and other countries to provide more anti-missile systems to Ukraine.
