The National Exhibition and Events will continue until February 24, organized by the “ADNEC” group in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, and the two exhibitions will be preceded by the International Defense Conference, which will be held tomorrow, at the “ADNOC” Business Center.
This session of the “IDEX” and “NAVDEX” exhibitions is of special importance and great interest, as it is the largest in the history of the exhibition at all levels, and comes as a culmination of a success story that has lasted for 30 years. And the great reputation and prestige that the country enjoys at the regional and international levels.
This edition of the two exhibitions coincides with the 30th anniversary of the launch of the IDEX exhibition, which attracts wide global participation from all continents of the world, and provides an international platform to display the latest innovations in the international defense sector, and a global forum to review the sector’s developments in terms of advanced technology and equipment.
The two exhibitions constitute an opportunity to forge strategic partnerships between major companies specialized in the defense and military industries sector from different countries of the world. It is expected that the number of official delegations that will visit the two exhibitions over 5 days will exceed more than 350 delegations from different countries of the world, with a growth rate of 191% compared to the previous edition. the previous one in 2021.
The number of exhibiting companies has increased to 1,350, with a growth rate of 50% compared to the previous session. The current session is also expected to attract more than 130,000 VIP visitors, decision-makers and specialists from all over the world, as the number of participating countries has increased to 65.
The current session is witnessing the participation of more than 180 exhibiting national companies, while the UAE pavilion is the largest in the exhibition, with a total area of more than 23,700 square meters, which confirms the great role that IDEX plays in supporting national industries by concluding partnerships with institutions. International exhibitions and the promotion of its products in new markets, to add this session to the success story of IDEX, which was launched for the first time in 1993 to become today one of the largest exhibitions specialized in the field of military industries in the world and the focus of the world’s attention.

And in the fourth session in 1999, it amounted to 641 million.
In the fifth session in 2001, the value of deals amounted to 44 billion dirhams, in the sixth session in 2003 it amounted to 1.069 billion, in the seventh session in 2005 it amounted to 6.8 billion, and in the eighth session in 2007 it amounted to 3.37 billion, compared to 18.4 billion in the ninth session in 2009.
In the tenth session in 2011, the value of deals amounted to 11.8 billion dirhams, in the eleventh in 2013 it amounted to 14 billion, in the twelfth in 2015 it amounted to 18.3 billion, in the thirteenth in 2017 it amounted to 19.2 billion, and in the fourteenth in 2019 it amounted to more than 20 billion.
And in the fifteenth session in 2021, the deals amounted to 20 billion and 957 million dirhams, which are the deals announced by the armed forces, and if the value of other undeclared deals that are concluded between the various wings, companies and competent authorities in various countries are added to it, then the total deals rise a lot, what It reflects the importance of the exhibition, as it constitutes an important platform for launching various important deals.
Continuous development
The first session of IDEX was launched with the active participation of more than 350 companies from 24 countries on an area of 12,000 square meters, while the second session witnessed a significant increase in exhibition spaces and the number of exhibitors compared to the first session, with the participation of 566 companies from 40 countries around the world. The number of pavilions of the participating countries increased to 29 international pavilions.
The third session of the exhibition was received by the patron of the event, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the state, may God rest his soul, who made a full tour of the exhibition and was introduced to the most important exhibits and services. The exhibition included 764 exhibitors, 30 international pavilions, and participation from more than 50 countries. .
IDEX 1999 witnessed further expansion and success. As 862 companies from 43 countries and about 70 high-level military delegations participated in it, and the fifth session attracted 860 companies from 43 countries and a large number of visitors, heads of state, and official delegations, while the sixth session attracted about 732 exhibitors.
