His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, concluded an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, during which the two friendly countries agreed to advance trade and investment relations to a new level of partnership and joint growth, with a focus on a large number of sectors of common interest, especially trade and logistics services. Energy, travel and tourism, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

His Excellency held a meeting with Jorin Laksanawisit Bumtam Wichayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand. During their meeting in the capital, Bangkok, the two sides discussed strategies to accelerate trade and investment flows, and reviewed the progress made in the talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the two countries, after it entered its fourth round.

 

 

 

 

His Excellency, accompanied by Obaid Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Thailand, and Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, also met with Sanan Angupulkul, President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, where they reviewed the commercial and investment opportunities available to the business communities in the two countries, and the opportunities for establishing joint projects. And enhancing cooperation between small and medium enterprises.

 

 

 

 

His Excellency Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi said: There is a mutual keenness between the UAE and Thailand to advance bilateral relations to the next level of joint economic growth by creating more opportunities for the business communities on both sides. He added: “Thailand is an increasingly important trade and investment partner for the UAE. It is also one of the fastest growing economies in the Southeast Asia region, and is rapidly strengthening its position as one of the most promising business centers in the region.”

 

 

 

 

He stressed that the two countries continue constructive cooperation together to enhance intra-trade flows, create a platform for establishing new projects and partnerships for investors, and create more diverse opportunities for small and medium-sized companies.

 

 

 

 

It is noteworthy that the UAE and Thailand enjoy thriving trade relations, as bilateral non-oil trade continued its upward trend in the first half of this year, recording $3.2 billion, an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period last year.

 

 

 

 

Thailand is the second largest trading partner of the UAE in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, known for short as ASEAN, with a share of 20% of the UAE’s total non-oil foreign trade with the ASEAN countries, while the UAE is the first trading partner of Thailand in the Middle East region. Ranked thirteenth in the world.
