The University of Sharjah organizes its international conference for applied research on October 31

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, affiliated with the Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies Sector at the University, is organizing the first international conference entitled: “Applied Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Multidisciplinary Global Practices,” which It hosts a number of scientists and researchers from prestigious international universities, including a group of Nobel Prize-winning scientists as keynote speakers at the conference. This will take place during the period from October 31 to November 2 of next year.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University, stressed the importance of the conference, which discusses the social, legal and technological challenges facing societies, and addresses several important areas in the social sciences and their effects on the individual and society. This is done by discussing several scientific topics that include defining the scope of applied research in the humanities and social sciences, the contributions of scientific research in combating crime and enhancing social security, and highlighting digital and methodological developments in applied scientific research, in addition to partnerships and community research practices in the humanities and social sciences. Sustainability as an innovative research topic in economics, society and governance (ESGs), in addition to discussing the focus of applied research in Sharia and legal sciences.

 

Dr. Muammar Battayeb, Vice President of the University for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies and Chairman of the Conference’s Scientific Committee, pointed out that the conference is characterized by broad global participation by researchers and academics from more than 35 countries who will present scientific papers in all disciplines and important applied fields that simulate the societal and virtual reality of societies.

 

 

 

 

For his part, Dr. Faker Al-Gharaibeh, Director of the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences and Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, explained that the conference will include a group of scientific workshops on how to detect drug users and prevent crime, such as using specific software in qualitative data analysis, and using case studies and clinical interviews in science research. Humanities and social sciences, research ethics and conducting research in the humanities and social sciences, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in humanities and social sciences research, in addition to a workshop on advanced skills in legal research and the formation of legal competence.

 

He pointed out that the conference will present research in both Arabic and English, with simultaneous translation available for attendees and participants, and simultaneous translation into sign language. Accepted research will also be submitted for publication in a conference book (Scopes), and accepted research in Arabic will be published in University of Sharjah journals.
