A record summer for Emirates Airlines.. 14 million passengers between June and August

Aug 23

Emirates Airlines, the world’s largest international carrier, recorded one of the strongest summers in terms of passenger traffic ever, carrying more than 14 million passengers, with an average seat capacity of more than 80% across its global network between June and August 2023.

Emirates’ booking trends for the coming months show continued strong demand for international travel across its global network. Dubai also maintained its great attraction among travelers during the summer months, as two million customers came to the city to enjoy its attractions and events that are held throughout the year. The most important markets from which visitors to Dubai came on Emirates flights during the summer months were the United Kingdom, India, Germany, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt and Kuwait. Families accounted for more than 35% of visitors to Dubai on Emirates flights, and the average stay exceeded two weeks to enjoy the wonderful events, sites and attractions in the city.

Emirates Airlines expects another surge in demand for travel to Dubai in the upcoming winter season, as the city hosts international conferences, exhibitions and world-class sporting events. Dubai has already received more than 8.5 million international visitors during the first six months of 2023, an increase of more than one million visitors compared to the same period last year.

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airlines, said: “This summer, we witnessed strong demand for travel across our network, despite the high cost of living pressures in many markets, which shows the value and necessity of travel for people, whether for business, tourism, study or Visiting family and friends, as well as the importance of air communication between different societies across the world.

Adnan Kazim added: “Emirates Airlines worked early to restore its flight schedules, and we have cooperated with our industry partners to ensure that we are ready to serve customer demand as well as attract visitors by relying on our main base Dubai. We are pleased to see strong preference for our product from customers in all grades, especially in first and business. Emirates will continue to provide the best value for our customers, by investing in our products, services and extensive global network coverage.”

During the period from June to August, Emirates Airlines carried more than 14 million passengers on about 50,000 flights to and from 140 cities. With its 157 partner airlines and rail companies, Emirates provides travelers with convenient and extensive access beyond the reach of its own global network, to more than 800 cities in 100 countries.
