Since its establishment in 2011 until the end of last year, Takamol, a program of the Department of Economic Development (Abu Dhabi), has achieved a remarkable increase in the number of patents, with 690 applications for patents and 317 patents for inventors from various government and academic institutions benefiting from the support of the Innovation Committee , Including UAE universities, Khalifa and Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Distribution Company, Al Ain Municipality and others.

The Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development (Abu Dhabi) stressed the importance of Tamkool’s continued support for innovation and innovators in order to strengthen the culture of innovation in the UAE in support of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 aimed at achieving economic diversification, building a knowledge-based economy and encouraging entrepreneurship.

He added that Takamol provides support to innovators, companies and academic institutions by adopting innovative ideas and transforming them into a commercial product that benefits the national economy by providing integrated support mechanisms for inventors across different stages of innovation.

Takamol aims to reach innovative solutions and products that contribute to the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and enterprises that contribute to the sustainable growth of the local economy of Abu Dhabi. The program provides opportunities for innovators by supporting innovation at various stages, From the idea to the application and to contribute to the marketing of these innovations and support patents and the protection of intellectual property rights, which contributes to stimulate creativity to support the growth of knowledge and sustainable economy in the country.

Since its establishment, Takamol has organized approximately 72 IP awareness workshops in various entities and institutions operating in various fields in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain. The program provided services to more than 4340 people, and in 2018, To 800,000 people through online marketing channels.

The program also supported the activation of the primary assets by evaluating the readiness of the technology to put in the market and conduct a detailed analysis through preliminary screening and detailed testing of the beneficiaries of the service, such as individuals, academic institutions and institutions. The program evaluated about 214 different technological applications from different fields.

The program also works to support the implementation of prototype models of the above mentioned categories, aiming to activate patents through the implementation of the initial or experimental application models, 23 models have been supported so far.

Since its inception, Takamul has supported innovation in many economic sectors including health and medicine, information and communication technologies, clean technologies, semiconductors, oil and gas, energy, advanced materials, infrastructure and others, The requirements of creativity and support inventors to turn their ideas into commercial products that contribute to the sustainable economic development of the UAE.

The most important applied models supported by the program is the integration of the lymph node simulator of the inventor Aya Shanti and a group of researchers from the University of Khalifa, and the application model of ultrasound and nanotubes in the treatment of cancer inventor Dr. Ghaleb Hosseini of the American University of Sharjah, and the model of liver and industrial device by Dr. Ali Naqbi APPLICATIONS FOR THE ELECTRIC AND BIOLOGICAL  QUANTITY DETERMINATOR OF THE AUTHOR DR. MAHMOUD AL – AHMED FROM UNITED ARAB EMIRATES UNIVERSITY.

In addition, two practical models were supported for the discovery of new drugs for the treatment of MDR-resistant bacteria, the discovery of pharmaceutical preparations as anti-cancer drugs, the anti-cancer catheter catheter model Ahmed Al-Hammadi, the dental dams model for Wafa Al-Balushi and the Al-Ittihad bag for inventor Saeed Al-Mahrami.

He also received the support of the program of integration of Fab Fab batteries for inventor Ayoub Al-Hammadi and Mag Optic for vision, especially corneal grafting for the doctor, Ghamr Ghubra, and for the urinary catheter catheter, specially designed for incontinence patients for inventors Amin Stali and Suhail Ghassoum. The program provided support to a number of emerging projects, including Haydock Healthcare for Ahmed and Salah Al Haddak and the Credit Script for inventor John Garcia.
