 4.6 billion dollar in tourism income in Jordan for 2017

Tourism income of the Kingdom of Jordan increased to $ 4.6 billion in 2017, compared to $ 4.1 billion in 2016, a 12.5% ​​increase. 

The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) said the increase was mainly due to an increase of 8.7 per cent in the total number of tourists coming to the Kingdom compared to 2016. 

On a monthly basis, preliminary data released by the Bank showed that the Kingdom’s revenues from tourism income rose by 9.1 percent in December 2017 to $ 340.9 million, as a result of the increase in the total number of tourists by 6.2 percent compared to December 2016
