40 Jordanian products have a competitive edge in the Brazilian market

A study conducted by the Center for Studies in the Chamber of Industry of Jordan revealed that 40 Jordanian products have a competitive advantage to enter the Brazilian market. The products are distributed in clothes and accessories of clothing, chemical industries (fertilizers, salt, sulfur, cement and lime), industries and food products (edible vegetables, , In addition to pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industries.

The announcement coincides with the upcoming Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum, scheduled to be held in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo early next month. A delegation from the Jordanian private sector will participate in the event, as well as a Jordanian day during the forum to present the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom.

The study included an overview of the Federal Republic of Brazil, the most prominent economic and social indicators, the trade relations between the two countries, and the most prominent Jordanian goods and industries that have the opportunity to enter the Brazilian market. The study showed that Brazil’s economy is one of the largest economies in the world. And the first among South American countries, according to the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2016, amounting to about 1.79 trillion dollars.

The study pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Brazil reached about 296 million dollars, of which 44 million Jordanian exports, which constitutes the proportion of Brazilian exports 1.3% of the total volume of Jordanian imports total.
The study showed that the process of foreign trade from export and import to and from Brazil faces some non-tariff barriers, especially on the subject of time and high port fees.
