9.5% growth in UAE oil exports to Japan in August

Japan’s imports of UAE oil increased, while its imports from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia declined during August.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The UAE maintained its top spot in the list of oil suppliers to the third largest oil importer in the world, as its oil exports to Japan increased by 9.5%, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Japanese Natural Resources and Energy Agency.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the data, Japan’s imports of UAE oil increased from the previous year to reach 1.15 million barrels per day.

 

 

 

 

On the other hand, Kuwaiti crude oil exports to Japan fell by 51.22% compared to the same period last year, reaching 4.68 million barrels, or the equivalent of 151 thousand barrels per day. The data showed that Japan’s total imports of crude oil declined by 16.22% in August, compared to the same period last year, to reach 2.50 million barrels per day.

 

 

 

 

According to the agency, imports from the Middle East represented 94.6% of total imports, an increase of 0.1%, compared to the same period last year.

 

 

 

 

Saudi Arabia came in second place in the Gulf, with shipments amounting to 899 thousand barrels per day, as its imports to Japan fell by 24.5% compared to the same period last year. Kuwait came in third place with 151 thousand barrels per day, and Qatar came in fourth place with shipments amounting to 95 thousand barrels per day. Its imports to Japan declined by 57%, compared to the same period last year
