The Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi launched the digital consumer window in cooperation with the Intelligent Systems and Services Authority in order to activate the role of the private sector through the development of a unified electronic platform to follow up and address consumer complaints within a short period of time to ensure the preservation of consumer rights in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
HE Mohammed Muneef Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Business Center said that the Consumer Digital Initiative initiative aims to speed up the process of handling consumer complaints and ensuring consumer rights are safeguarded according to a unified procedure between the department and the private sector.
He explained that this initiative will contribute to the involvement of the private sector procedures to address consumer complaints by giving him the power to work on resolving complaints with the consumer and closing them through the system so that the role of the department is to monitor the status of the complaint and ensure the satisfaction of the consumer.
HE Mohammed Muneef Al Mansoori stressed the department’s keenness to strengthen partnership with the private sector through its direct participation in the local economy system of the emirate, which would give it the consumer confidence and satisfaction with the service provided to it.
He pointed out that the Department has developed a mechanism to implement the Consumer Digital Initiative initiative which begins by receiving the complaint through the channels of receiving official complaints, which is e-mail contact@tamm.abudhabi or toll free number 800555, after which complaints will be forwarded to the concerned private sector to be processed and solved with the consumer Electronic subscriber.
