Abu Dhabi Airports has launched a “multi-religious room of worship” that will allow passengers from Abu Dhabi International Airport from all faiths to practice their religion.
The “worship room” is located near the bus gates of Terminal 3, which receives 12 million passengers a year.
This move is in line with the efforts of Abu Dhabi airports to achieve the vision of the UAE based on promoting tolerance between different cultures and beliefs to reflect the nature of the social and religious diversity enjoyed by the state.
The Interfaith Chamber of Worship is a quality initiative, the first of its kind in social initiatives that promote the concepts of coexistence and acceptance of the other.
This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi Airports’ initiatives to celebrate the year of Zayed and its commitment to provide the best travel experience to its customers in accordance with the highest standards of quality and excellence in line with the company’s vision to become the world’s leading airport group.
“As a world-class hub that attracts travelers from different faiths and cultures, we are keen to cater to their religious needs,” said Brian Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports. “To achieve this, we have dedicated a multi-faith room to meet all needs of Abu Dhabi International Airport passengers.
He added that the new institutional values of Abu Dhabi airports, which we launched last October, are based on the basic principles laid down by HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was known worldwide for accepting all cultures and embracing the values of religious tolerance
