Abu Dhabi’s total trade with Saudi Arabia stood at AED 1.4 billion in January, up 3.7% from the same month in 2017, reflecting a continued high level of trade between the two countries.
As the trade relations between the two sides continued to strengthen, Saudi Arabia topped the list of Arab and Gulf countries with the largest trade with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, according to figures released by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center on the trade movement during the first month of this year.
According to figures from the Statistics Center, Saudi Arabia accounted for 11.3% of the total trade of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with all countries of the world during the month of January, which amounted to 12.4 billion dirhams.
Economists said that the continued growth in trade relations between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia is a natural product of the distinguished relations between the two sides at various levels, stressing that the next phase will witness further strengthening trade and economic cooperation links between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in general, especially after the formation of a committee for this purpose earlier in the year. the past.
In the details of the trade exchange movement, which was revealed by figures from the Statistics Center, the value of imports of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi from Saudi Arabia to about 950 million dirhams in January compared to 888 million dirhams in January of 2017.
In terms of re-export trade, the value of exports increased from AED 152 million to AED 230 million during the same period, while exports amounted to AED 205 million compared to AED 300 million.
