Ajman Chamber officials discuss with Australian delegation ways of economic cooperation

Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and an Australian delegation discussed boosting mutual cooperation and reviewing investment opportunities available in various fields and increasing the volume of future trade exchange between the two sides.
The delegation was welcomed by Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General, Jamila Kajour, Director of Commercial Franchise Development Department, and Marwan Hareb, Director of Business Promotion and Investment Development. The Australian delegation was headed by Roland Gabor, President of the Australian Arab Chamber, in Australia.
Salem Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of the visit and its role in increasing cooperation and partnership between the businessmen of the two parties, pointing to the importance of increasing visits and direct meetings and participation in joint exhibitions.
He reviewed the most important economic factors in the Emirate of Ajman and the investment opportunities available, pointing out the most important sectors that the emirate attaches particular importance especially the education and health sectors, in addition to the opportunities offered by the tourism sector and other sectors.
For his part, the Australian delegation reviewed the most important projects and investment opportunities in Australia, headed by the sectors of education, health, tourism, real estate, food and electronic products, mining, livestock and other sectors. The delegation invited the Ajman Chamber and businessmen to visit Australia and get acquainted with the investment opportunities available to them.
For his part, Marwan Hareb presented the Emirate of Ajman in terms of geographical area, geographical location, diversified economic sectors and keen leadership to enhance ease of doing business as the emirate ranked 35th in the ease of doing business index.
He added that the emirate included more than 40,000 licenses in 2017 compared to 23802 licenses during the year 2013 with a growth rate of 68%, highlighting the most important sectors contributing to the GDP of the emirate, led by the industrial sector, which contributes 33% and the construction sector by 14%, the real estate sector 12% and the trade sector by 12%. He pointed out that the number of factories in the emirate amounted to 982 factories during the year 2018 compared to 819 factories during the year 2014.
The delegation visited Ajman Free Zone and recognized its efforts in providing an attractive investment environment characterized by quality, speed, flexibility and providing the requirements for success and sustainability of the establishments.
Businessmen in Ajman and Australian businessmen also discussed opportunities for partnerships and cooperation between the two sides and the most important areas for cooperation and exchange of experiences.
Shields and souvenirs were exchanged, and the attendees stressed the need to increase visits and the importance of finding future partnerships to help increase economic growth between the two parties.
