Emirates flies additional services to pilgrims

 Emirates has announced additional flights between Dubai and Saudi Arabia to facilitate the movement of thousands of pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj services from various stations of the airline’s international network. Between August 6 and 31, Emirates will operate an additional 33 flights to Jeddah and Madinah, where additional Hajj pilgrims will be allowed to travel only. Pakistan, Senegal, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria are the top destinations in terms of the number of pilgrims traveling on the airline’s flights. Adel Al Ghaith, Emirates’ senior vice president for commercial operations in the Gulf, Middle East and Iran, said the number of pilgrims traveling on board this year will increase to 25,000. Emirates has reinforced the staff at Dubai International Airport to help pilgrims and set up counters to finalize their travel and staff to guide pilgrims from various stations of the global network and facilitate their procedures. The aircraft will be equipped with facilities for ablution and ihraam. The passengers will be alerted before arrival at the meeqaat. A video was also uploaded on the ICE system, covering how to perform the complete Hajj and the Holy Quran channel. Emirates allows every pilgrim on return flights from Jeddah to carry a 5-liter bottle of Zamzam free of charge in the cargo hold. Economy class passengers are allowed to weigh up to 35 kg, 40 kg for business class and 50 kg for first class passengers
