GCC countries receive 2.5 million Chinese visitors by 2021

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will see the highest increase in arrivals from China by 35% compared with 2016, followed by the United Arab Emirates (20%), Oman (12%), Bahrain and Kuwait (7%), Colliers International reported.
According to data from the Arab Travel Market (Forum 2018), which is held annually at the Dubai World Trade Center from 22-25 April, the number of visitors from China to the GCC will be 21% up to the year 2021, reaching about 2.5 million Visitor annually.
“The Chinese travel market includes a wide range of opportunities and a lot of rich and adventurous travelers. The GCC region has been a favorite for them for several years now thanks to its excellent reputation,” said Simon Bryce, Senior Manager, Arabian Travel Market. There are plenty of business opportunities and entertainment attractions.
He added that about 15,000 Chinese Muslims travel annually to perform Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, and that number will increase with the growth of the Muslim population in China to 2.1% of the total population by 2030. In order to strengthen these links, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia in 2017 loaned a collection of Arab and Islamic artifacts to Chinese museums.
