Revenue from Tourism Sector in Ajman

Ajman’s total revenue from the tourism and hospitality sector reached AED 458 million in 2017 compared to 411 million in 2016, an increase of 12 percent. The number of hotel establishments rose to 39 with 3654 rooms with a total of 6,079 beds.

“Ajman stands out as a unique destination for tourism investment with a wide range of investment opportunities in key tourism sectors such as medical tourism, sports tourism, business tourism and leisure tourism,” said Saleh Al Jazeeri, Director General of Ajman Tourism Development Department.

According to the 2017 statistics issued by the department, the emirate received 544 thousand and 447 tourists in 2017. The number of nights of rooms was 872,434 nights in 2017 compared to 835,331 nights in 2016, an increase of 4 percent. Occupancy reached 82 percent in 2017,. The number of visitors to the Ajman Museum during the year 2017 increased to 19% compared to 2016.

As part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with major international tourism agencies, it is participating in the Berlin Travel and Tourism Fair, the world’s largest travel and tourism trade fair, to be held from March 7 to 11, as a key part of its strategy to highlight And promote tourism in the emirate of Ajman locally, regionally and globally.

The exhibition provides a global platform for interaction with investors, in the presence of senior international travel agencies, official travel agencies, hoteliers and investors.
