The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) today signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Interior and Communications to enhance joint cooperation between the Kingdom and Japan in the field of telecommunications and information technology to achieve further development and growth of the ICT sector in both countries.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al Sawahah and the Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Masatoshi Ishida signed the agreement in the presence of a number of officials from both sides during the participation of His Excellency Minister Al Sawahah in the ministerial meetings on the G20 digital economy held in Tsukuba , Ibaraki, Japan, in preparation for the G20 Leaders Summit hosted by Japan in Osaka on 28 and 29 June 2019.
“The agreement focuses on several key areas, including the development of human capital, the enhancement of the quality of digital infrastructure, the support of the IT industry and investment in innovation and emerging technologies,” said Al Sawahah.
The minister stressed the importance of developing human capital as the cornerstone of the comprehensive development process. The ministry is keen on rehabilitating the Saudi youth and developing their skills in the technical field. He said that the exchange of visits between experts and specialists in the two countries and the organization of seminars, And encourage the establishment of many activities and work related to communications and information technology to exchange knowledge, experience and experience to achieve the aspirations and aspirations of the two countries.
