The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security allows foreign customers, through its smart channels via the website and smart application, the service of amending the status of a sponsored visa, according to which the status of the residence status of the sponsored person is modified from a visa holder to a new status and a residence application is submitted within the country. There are 4 requirements to benefit from the service at a fee of 650 dirhams.
The authority explained through its digital channels that the requirements for obtaining the service are: “The sponsored person must be inside the country, and the visa whose status will be modified must still be valid, and there is no current request to amend or cancel the visa data, and the status of the sponsorship file must be effective.” .
She indicated that customers can request service procedures through several methods, which are the website www.icp.gov.ae, or the UAEICP smart application by logging in with the digital identity or with the user name, searching for the service to be applied for, and filling out the application data where applicable. Pay service fees, visit customer happiness centers to apply, or visit typing offices approved by the Authority.
She added that the application fee for the service of amending the status of a sponsored visa amounts to 650 dirhams, which includes 500 dirhams of application fees, 100 dirhams of smart services fees, 50 dirhams of electronic services fees and federal authority fees.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality, Customs and Ports Security confirmed that the application is rejected electronically after 30 days have passed, if it is returned due to the presence of deficiencies in the data or lack of completion of the required documents, and the application is also rejected if it is returned 3 times, due to the presence of deficiencies in the data or lack of completion of the required documents. Only issuance fees and financial guarantees, if any, will be refunded in case the application is rejected.
The authority pointed out that the fees are refunded by credit card within a period not exceeding 6 months from the date of submitting the application, or are refunded by the procedures followed to recover the fees by check or bank transfer – to banks located within the country only – and in a period not exceeding five years, indicating that the rules and regulations are subject to change.
